Over-reaction. It was years ago in what should have remained a private conversation. If anything, Hogan can counter with a defamation lawsuit. WWE could have just as easily made a brief statement that they did not agree with the comments made by Hogan and chose to simply release him from his legends contract. Everything else could have been kept intact, but instead its like he nuked a childrens cancer treatment hospital then set fire to a litter of puppies while doing a Nazi salute.
I don't know who made the call to go so overboard with his removal of historical record, but they should really reconsider. My bet is that it was Vince that made the call. Had it been Triple H, he probably would have just called Hogan in, had a talk, issued a statement to the media/press, then move on with business as usual.

I do agree that to remove him from WWE's history is completely assinine. As you say; they should have just had a talk. I will forgive Hogan for making those comments as racism is a touchy subject with me, but I do agree that erasing him completely was too far
